Intermediate Handgun Level 1
Course Overview: This is a firearms training class that is all “Hands-On”. No classroom. Everything will be on the range.  This is NOT a beginners course.

Location:  This course is offered on a Private Range.  Safeshooting will email you with directions on how to get there!


Course Description:This course is designed to be the next step above a basic handgun course (Concealed Carry). It will review the basic marksmanship fundamentals and add several different skills to improve your weapons handling and firing skills with your handgun. 

Class will emphasize safety, muscle memory and handgun manipulation. Each student will learn to safely draw, acquire their target, engage it, and clear malfunctions. This course will offer numerous different: weapons manipulations, firing drills, and tactical considerations. 

Firearms Training Pre-requisites:This course is designed to be the next step above a basic handgun course. Each student will be required to provide proof of basic handgun training which includes, but not limited to: NRA Basic Pistol Class, any state Concealed Carry Class, or any other other BASIC HANDGUN course that has been approved by Safe Shooting. Basic military small arms training MUST include Handgun training. Contact Safe Shooting for any questions pertaining to approved training.


Equipment Needed:
  • Belt
  • Holster - must be an outside the pants holster worn on strong side
  • 2 Magazines - Semi-Auto
  • 2 Speed Loaders - Revolver
  • Magazine/ Speed loader holder recommended, not required
  • 200 Rds of ammunition
  • Folding camp chair, or similar chair
  • Clothing- for any weather, No open top clothing is allowed - this will help prevent hot brass from going down the front of your shirt 
  • Footwear- range may be dirty and or muddy
  • Hat - not required, but recommended, wide brim, ball cap, etc.
  • Hearing Protection - Provided if you do not bring your own
  • Eye Protection - Please bring some type of eye protection - the larger the lens, the better 
  • Hydration - please bring some type of drinks (small cooler) to remain hydrated
  • Lunch & Snacks - Bring your own lunch. We will eat on site. 
  • Sunscreen, Insect repellant if needed
  • Contact solution, eye drops, any other personal items needed
  • Note taking material

Class Times: 8:00 - approx. 3:00pm
