COVID-19 precautions will be in place for classes.  Details will be emailed to you when you sign up. 

What to Bring to Class

 

  • Where: Our classes are held at the New Ruston VFW Hall located at 2505 S. Vienna in Ruston, La.
  • Classes begin at 8:00am sharp, so please arrive around 7:45am for registration and safety check. If you arrive late it will slow up the entire class!!!!
  • Students are required to bring an UNLOADED handgun to class. If you don’t own a handgun, we have several handguns that can be issued on a first come first serve basis. Leave all ammunition in your vehicle. Make sure that all magazines are unloaded before the start of class.
  • A safety check of all firearms will be conducted upon arrival to the class.
  • Persons bringing a semi-automatic should bring 1 or 2 empty spare magazines if available.
  • If you don’t own a handgun, we have several handguns that can be issued on a first come first serve basis.
  • All students should bring 50 rounds of ammunition (please leave ammo in your vehicle) until the afternoon (Range/ Shooting) portion of class.
  • Please bring Ear Plugs/Muffs and shooting glasses for the range - Safety First!
  • If you have a holster, handgun bag, gun box, or carrying case, please bring it with you.
  • Coffee and Donuts are provided during class. Cokes, Diet Soft Drinks, and Bottled Water are available in the classroom. The Classroom portion will be from 8:00-3:30 0r 4:00, and the Range time is from 3:30 - until.
  • The lunch break will be very short. You will need to go through a drive through and pick up your lunch to be eaten in the classroom. Videos will be shown during lunch to save on time. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch with you if you like. A refrigerator/freezer and a microwave are available for your use.
